Maya
President
Maya is a 5th year student majoring in Honours Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As the President of UBC PAW, Maya is responsible for chairing UBC PAWs weekly exec meetings to ensure every department is up on tasks and she also oversees all club events. In her own time, she enjoys singing, dancing, acting, travelling, and trying new cafes & restaurants. In the last 5 years, Maya has been to over 15 concerts!
Ranya
Treasurer
Ranya is a 4th year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology with a minor in Commerce at UBC. As the Treasurer of UBC PAW, Ranya is UBC PAW’s sole signing officer and is responsible for tracking the club's finances. In her own time, Ranya enjoys going to the gym, baking, reading, and doing puzzles. Ranya has also done a co-op term on the UBC dairy farm which has increased her love for cows.
Mahshid
Animal Welfare Education & Research
Mahshid is a 3rd year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As the Welfare Education & Outreach executive of UBC PAW, Mahshid reaches out to welfare professionals for Welfare Wednesdays and updates the UBC PAW website with the newest research opportunities for students. In her own time, Mahshid enjoys running, hiking, and swimming. She also knows how to surf as she has lived in Australia for a couple of years.
Haven
Veterinary Outreach & Education
Haven is a 4th year student majoring in Applied Biology at UBC. As the Veterinary Education & Outreach executive of UBC PAW, Haven organizes vet talks and provides precious vet experience opportunities for our UBC PAW members. In her own time, Haven enjoys thrifting and going to the beach, Recently, Haven has also starting to learn to play pickleball.
Andie
Student Engagement & Fundraising
Andie is a 4th year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology with a focus on invertebrates at UBC. As one of the Student Engagement & Fundraising executives of UBC PAW, Andie is responsible for planning all the fun and educational activities happening in our club, making sure all UBC PAW members are having a great time in our events. In her own time, Andie enjoys hanging out with her cats and playing games with her friends. Over the past 7 years, Andie has fostered a total of 58 kittens.
Tanesha
Student Engagement & Fundraising
Tanesha is a 4th year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As one of the Student Engagement & Fundraising executives of UBC PAW, Tanesha is responsible for planning all the fun and educational activities happening in our club, making sure all UBC PAW members are having a great time in our events. In her own time, Tanesha is a birder and she loves going on hikes to see all the wonderful birds in BC and she also owns a pet bird named Neo.
Noa
External Communications
Noa is a 4th year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As the External Communication executive of UBC PAW, Noa builds reports with external organizations and reaches out to them to get different volunteer opportunities to the UBC PAW members. In her own time, Noa enjoys spending her free time swimming, painting, and volunteering at local animal organizations as she is super passionate about animal welfare. Noa also has a dog named WInnie.
Ren
Marketing Director
Ren is a 4th year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As the Marketing Director of UBC PAW, Ren captures our fun memories in every event and creates cute TikTok and Instagram reels. In her own time, Ren enjoys playing piano and guitar, but recently she has a new obsession, Sudoku. If you every see Ren squinting at you, don't worry, she just doesn't have the best eyesight.
Vanessa
Graphic Designer
Vanessa is a 3rd year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As the Graphic Designer of UBC PAW, Vanessa is responsible for all graphics for the club to ensure the club has nice-looking and informative posters for every event. In her own time, Vanessa enjoys exploring delicious food around the world.And to find Vanessa in a crowd, just remember that she is always wearing all-black and with her headphones on.
James
Social Media Coordinator
James is a 3rd year student majoring in Applied Animal Biology at UBC. As the Social Media Director of UBC PAW, James creates our monthly newsletters to keep our members updated with the club’s most recent events and he also replies to UBC PAW’s messages on social media. In his own time, James enjoys going for nature walks, wildlife conservations, cooking, and visiting the theatre. James also had an art piece displayed in the Glenbow Museum.
